1. Who we are

Magic Assist AI is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Contact us at info@MagicAssistAI.com.

2. What we collect

• Account data: your email address, password (encrypted), and display name.
• Billing data: we do not store your card number. Stripe processes and stores payments; we keep your plan, invoices, and Stripe customer ID.
• Content you create: lessons, notes, uploads, recordings, and chat messages you send to the AI tutor.
• Usage data: basic logs and analytics to keep the service running (pages visited, features used, errors).

3. How we use your data

• To give you access to Magic Assist AI and its features.
• To process your payments and send invoices.
• To generate AI answers, subtitles, transcripts, and translations for you.
• To send important account emails (receipts, password resets, service notices).
• To fix bugs and keep the service secure.

4. Legal basis (GDPR)

We process your data to perform our contract with you (giving you the service you paid for), to comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting), and where we have a legitimate interest (keeping Magic Assist AI secure and improving it). We do not sell your personal data.

5. Who we share data with

Only the service providers we need to run Magic Assist AI:

• Stripe — payments.
• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Lovable / Cloudflare — hosting and delivery.
• AI providers (via the Lovable AI Gateway) — to generate answers, subtitles, and translations. Prompts and content are sent for processing and are not used to train their models.

6. Where your data is stored

Data is stored in the EU and other regions where our providers operate. Where data is transferred outside the EU, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your content within 30 days, except records we need to keep for tax and legal reasons (usually 7 years for invoices).

8. Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can also object to certain processing or withdraw consent. Just email info@MagicAssistAI.com and we will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

9. Cookies

We use only essential cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your settings. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

10. Children

Magic Assist AI is not intended for children under 16.

11. Changes

If we make a material change to this policy, we will let you know by email or in the app before it takes effect.
